To our great joy and hopefully to the delight of all music fans the first CD by the Orchestra di Fiati del Veneto is now ready.

The official presentation will take place on June 12th on the occasion of the Academy students' concert at the Theatre of S. Maria di Sala.

Entitled Images for Winds the album presents a variety of pieces ranging over different musical genres resembling light flashes suddenly illuminating the listener.

Saturday, October 11th 2008 at 10.00 a.m. the Orchestra performs on the occasion of the opening of the Park of Villa Farsetti in Santa Maria di Sala (Venice).
After completion of the the works that have brought the park back to its original splendour the Town Hall invites all citizens to the opening ceremony.

The master class for trumpeters - held by Paolo Paravagna on 20 April 2008 at Oriago di Mira (Venice) and sponsored by ANBIMA (the Italian Association of Independent Bands) - met with great success.
Mr. Paravagna is leading trumpet at the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and prize-winner in a number of international contests.
The one-day course was attended by the entire "brass" section of the Orchestra and by various players from local bands.
Subjects included: sound placement and sound emission, choice of repertoire for a concert, history of the trumpet, how to join an orchestra.

The Orchestra di Fiati del Veneto is looking for a promoter. The applicant will help develop and plan the Orchestra’s concert season at local, national and international level.

The first CD by the Orchestra di Fiati del Veneto is being recorded.
It will be the event of 2008. Our fans will be able to enjoy the best of our repertoire from the classic authors (Pachelbel, Holst, ...) to more modern musicians (Van der Roost, De Haan, Morricone,...).

The Conductor of the Orchestra di Fiati del Veneto, M° Benvenuto Bassan, has recently been appointed as a member of ANBIMA (Italian Independent Bands Association).
It's with great pleasure and - you will forgive us - a hint of pride that we publish this news as we're sure Conductor Bassan will put his wast experience to the service of all music enthusiasts.

A stage for directors is to take place from 15 to 17 December 2006 in Pescina (Aquila, Italy) with the participation of M° Jan Van Der Roost.
Score study, lectures, round tables and final concert.

As customary the commemoration of those who lost their lives at war was held in Veternigo according to the idea that each year the event is to take place at a different hamlet of the Municipality.

Musical training courses have started for young and no-longer young music fans. The courses can be attended by both amateurs and youth people wishing to start a professional career.
The courses focus on all wind and percussion instruments.
Courses are sponsored by the Culture and Education Department of the Province of Venice.

From April 28th to May 2th 2006 the Orchestra di Fiati del Veneto held a series of concerts in Bavaria (Germany) in the towns of Marktbreit, Ochsenfurt, Wurzburg and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The tour was part of a cultural exchange with the Collegium Musicum Iuvenale of Ochsenfurt.
The tour was also a good opportunity for the representative of the Province of Venice to promote the many attractions of the Venetian area including those on the mainland and the enchanting sea resorts.
